A remarkable transformation is underway in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, where brothers Virendra and Pushpendra Kushwaha have purchased an old Border Security Force (BSF) cargo plane. For a sum of about Rs 40 lakh, these scrap dealers have acquired a 55-seater aircraft, with plans to repurpose it into a high-end, 4-5 room hotel. This unique venture promises a novel travel experience, allowing guests to immerse themselves in an aviation setting without leaving the ground.
The inspiration for this groundbreaking project came to Pushpendra Kushwaha after witnessing an airplane converted into a restaurant in Haryana. Determined to build upon this concept, the Kushwaha brothers are establishing a full-fledged five-star hotel and restaurant within the confines of the decommissioned BSF plane. The hotel, situated in Ujjain’s Shankarpur, will feature a distinct theme honoring the Indian Armed Forces, inspired by military operations such as Operation Sindoor. The brothers hope this initiative will cultivate a deeper sense of respect for the armed forces.
Social media platforms have been buzzing with the news of this creative business endeavor. The idea has been met with widespread praise for its originality and its patriotic focus. Online discussions included users humorously noting the prospect of “sleeping inside a plane even without flying anywhere.” The viral sensation has spurred comparisons to other airplane-themed accommodations globally, suggesting a strong potential for the Ujjain hotel to attract a significant number of tourists upon its completion.
