Concerned about the escalating crime spree, a legislator has formally appealed to the state’s Chief Minister to exert pressure on the central government for the prompt extradition of Mohammad Haider Ali, a dreaded gangster operating from Dubai. Prince Khan, as he is widely known, has been evading Indian authorities from the UAE. The MLA pointed out that a formal request for his repatriation was sent to the Indian government in October 2023, followed by official communication from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Despite these administrative steps, the extradition has not materialized even after two years. The gangster’s reach has extended significantly beyond Dhanbad, now threatening businesses and medical professionals in Jamshedpur, Ranchi, and Bokaro. Several victims have reported receiving hefty extortion calls and facing intimidation, including threats of violence, from Prince Khan’s network. This unchecked criminal enterprise is creating a climate of fear among the state’s business community and healthcare providers. The legislator had previously brought this matter before the state assembly, receiving assurances of government action, including the extradition of the fugitive and the neutralization of his criminal syndicate. The prolonged delay has emboldened the gangster, allowing his influence to spread, thereby jeopardizing public safety and economic stability.
