Durg Police has been continuously taking action against smugglers and sellers involved in drug trafficking under the special campaign Vishwas since September 1, 2025. Under this action, drugs and tablets worth approximately Rs 84.77 lakh, as well as ganja and chitta, have been seized. In Kumhari police station, 388 kilograms of ganja being smuggled in a container was seized, along with two inter-state smugglers and the driver from Maharashtra. Similarly, 246 grams of chitta was seized in Mohan Nagar police station area with four smugglers from Punjab, and all their gang members, big and small sellers, totaling 30 people, have been arrested. Further arrests are likely in this case.
In the same campaign, on 16.09.2025, a special operation was conducted, seizing 19.531 kilograms of ganja and 106 tablets/syrups in 17 NDPS cases in a single day. Additionally, the police team was continuously active in seizing narcotic drugs and syringes, and thousands of Alprozolam tablets were recovered from notorious smuggler Vaibhav Khandelwal. Subsequently, more than 10,000 tablets of narcotic drugs were recovered together at Durg Kotwali police station. The entire operation was carried out by the ACCU staff and police station teams.
