A significant chill is settling over Jharkhand as temperatures continue to fall across various districts. This gradual decline in both maximum and minimum readings signifies the onset of colder weather. While short-term weather patterns might introduce minor temperature fluctuations, the overarching trend points towards a sustained cooling period. Official weather updates from Saturday confirmed this developing scenario. Notably, some areas in the state are still experiencing daytime highs exceeding 34 degrees Celsius, but this is expected to change as winter conditions become more pronounced.
Observational data from Saturday revealed a temperature decrease of one to two degrees Celsius in numerous Jharkhand districts when compared to Friday’s figures. Ranchi saw its minimum temperature decrease by a degree. In Daltonganj, the maximum temperature dropped by a degree, while Bokaro’s minimum temperature also fell by a similar margin. Chaibasa also registered a one-degree reduction in its maximum temperature, indicating a widespread cooling effect.
In addition to the dropping temperatures, the state experienced light to moderate rainfall in select areas over the last 24 hours. Manoharpur recorded the highest rainfall at 20 millimeters, with areas like Sonua, Kurdeg, Adki, and Gumla receiving between 10 to 14 millimeters. Gonda recorded the state’s peak temperature at 34.4 degrees Celsius, contrasting with the lowest temperature of 18.2 degrees Celsius observed in Latehar. Other significant readings included Ranchi at 29.9 degrees Celsius, Jamshedpur at 34 degrees, Daltonganj at 33.4 degrees, Bokaro at 33.1 degrees, and Chaibasa at 34.4 degrees Celsius.
