A shocking incident has occurred at the Koderma Subdivisional Office, where an administrative assistant passed away unexpectedly due to cardiac arrest while at work. The deceased has been identified as Mahesh Kumar, 45, a resident of Koderma and native of Hazaribagh. The events transpired on Thursday night around 8 PM. Other office staff were concluding their duties when they realized Mahesh was not present. As he was tasked with securing the office, his absence raised concern. Colleagues attempted to locate him and found his mobile phone ringing within one of the office rooms. Assuming he had left for an important errand, an employee named Golu Sinha secured the main gate and returned Mahesh’s phone to his home. When Mahesh did not return home for an extended period, his wife, accompanied by their son, sought information at the Subdivisional Magistrate’s residence. A guard provided a spare set of keys, and accompanied by Mahesh’s wife, they went to the office to search. Mahesh was ultimately discovered in a state of unconsciousness within the SDO’s chamber. He was immediately transported to Sadar Hospital, where medical professionals confirmed his death. Subdivisional Magistrate Ria Singh arrived at the hospital to console the family. Examination of the office’s CCTV footage on Friday morning showed Mahesh entering the SDO’s chamber at approximately 7 PM and not exiting. Deputy Commissioner Rituraj also extended his condolences at the hospital. Mahesh Kumar had been employed at the office since 2021 and lived in Koderma with his wife and two children.
