Veteran actress Nafisa Ali is bravely confronting stage 4 peritoneal and ovarian cancer. She is gaining widespread admiration for her courage as she openly shares her experiences and provides encouragement to others through her social media presence. Ali recently shared a photograph displaying her hair loss due to chemotherapy treatments.
Born in Kolkata, she attended La Martiniere Calcutta. Before her acting career, Ali excelled as a swimmer, becoming a national champion from 1972 to 1974. She later participated in the beauty pageant circuit, winning Miss India in 1976. She went on to represent India in Miss International. She was also a jockey. Ali transitioned to Bollywood with the film ‘Junoon’ in 1979 and went on to star in films such as ‘Kshatriya,’ ‘Aatank,’ ‘Major Saab,’ ‘Bewafaa,’ ‘Big B,’ ‘Life in a Metro,’ and ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’. Her latest film appearance was in ‘Uunchai’ in 2022.
She also has a history in politics, contesting Lok Sabha elections. In an Instagram post, Ali wrote a message of support and positivity.
