Vinod Khanna, a celebrated figure in Hindi cinema, delivered numerous successful films, earning him a place in the hearts of many. However, one particular incident stands out, as recounted by the actor himself. In 1968, Khanna started his career with the film ‘Man Ka Meet’, produced by Sunil Dutt and directed by Adurthi Subba Rao. Khanna was cast as a villain. Upon returning home to share this news with his father, Kishanchand Khanna, he was met with intense disapproval. His father was so enraged that he threatened Vinod with a gun, declaring that he would shoot him if he pursued a career in films. Kishanchand Khanna had hoped his son would become a businessman. Despite this opposition, Vinod Khanna persevered and established a significant presence in the film industry. He also got the offer for his first film at a party where he met Sunil Dutt, who was in search of a new actor. Sunil Dutt immediately offered him a role. Although his father was against it, his mother managed to secure a two-year window for him. Following his debut film, he signed 15 more films in a single week.
