At least 70 Palestinians were killed in Israeli air strikes on Saturday, including seven children, despite US President Donald Trump’s appeal for an immediate halt to the bombing in Gaza. The strikes followed Hamas’s acceptance of Trump’s peace plan. Gaza City bore the brunt of the attacks, with the most significant loss of life.
Health officials reported 45 fatalities in Gaza City. The attacks have displaced over a million Gazans, forcing them to seek safety in the southern part of the region.
An airstrike on a residential building in the Tuffah neighborhood claimed 18 lives and injured several others. Rescue teams confirmed damage to surrounding buildings from the explosion.
In addition, Israeli forces targeted a displacement camp in al-Mawasi, southern Gaza, where residents had been told to evacuate. The attack resulted in the deaths of two children and injuries to at least eight others.
