Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s film ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ premiered on Vijayadashami, facing a box office battle with Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara: Chapter 1.’ Despite featuring Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf, the film has underperformed, failing to captivate audiences. Actress Surbhi Chandna, after watching the movie with her husband, Karan Sharma, expressed her strong disapproval.
Chandna’s reaction was captured on Instagram, where she labeled the film as ‘garbage.’ During the interval, she humorously stated that the only good thing about the experience was the samosa she was eating. Sharing a video of the climax, where Janhvi Kapoor’s character runs towards Varun Dhawan’s, Chandna exclaimed, “Stop this film!” Her husband captioned the video, calling the movie “Bollywood’s new weapon of mass destruction.”
The financial disparity between the two competing films is stark. ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ reportedly earned over 100 crores in India within two days, while ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ struggled to reach 15 crores. Surbhi Chandna, known for her roles in television shows like ‘Naagin,’ ‘Ishqbaaaz,’ and ‘Sherdil Shergill,’ also appeared in the 2014 film ‘Bobby Jasoos.’
