Big Responsibility for Rajat Patidar
The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) has named Rajat Patidar as the captain for the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season. He will take over from Shubham Sharma for the upcoming Ranji Trophy. Madhya Pradesh secured their maiden Ranji title in 2022, and the team, under Patidar’s captaincy, is aiming to repeat this achievement. Currently, he is leading the Rest of India team in the Irani Cup, where they are competing against the Ranji champions, Vidarbha.
The Madhya Pradesh squad, comprising 15 members, features strong batting options with players such as Yash Dubey, Harsh Gawli, and Shubham Sharma. The bowling unit includes pace bowlers Kuldeep Sen and Aryan Pandey, along with spinners Kumar Kartikeya and Saransh Jain, who will contribute to the team’s balance. Furthermore, Himanshu Mantri, Harpreet Singh, Venkatesh Iyer, Sagar Solanki, Adheer Pratap, Arshad Khan, and Anubhav Agrawal are also part of the team. The Ranji Trophy 2025-26 will be conducted in two phases. The first phase will take place from October 15 to November 19, followed by the second phase from January 22 to February 1. The knockout stages will be held from February 6 to February 28.
