The Aam Aadmi Party has leveled serious accusations against the BJP government in Delhi, accusing them of deliberately undermining Delhi’s healthcare services to pave the way for privatization. AAP leaders also criticized Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, accusing her of frequent dishonesty. Saurabh Bharadwaj, the Delhi state president of AAP, addressed the press, expressing concern over the deteriorating condition of government hospitals in Delhi under the BJP’s administration.
Bharadwaj contrasted the present situation with the previous AAP government’s initiatives, such as providing free medicines, tests, and arranging private facilities for procedures like MRI, CT scans, and surgeries when government hospitals were unable to perform them. He claimed that today, government hospitals in Delhi and the central government’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital are experiencing shortages of medicines, tests, and surgeries due to the BJP’s alleged privatization plans.
Bharadwaj highlighted the detrimental state of health services, especially for those seeking medical care in Delhi. He accused the government of intentionally creating a situation to justify privatization, pointing out the ongoing shortage of medicines in Delhi.
Further, he claimed that the budget allocation for certain healthcare programs has been significantly reduced. He also mentioned the challenges faced in procuring medicines and the impact on the ‘Farista Scheme’.
Regarding the decision to lower the drinking age, Bharadwaj criticized the BJP’s hypocrisy, referencing the party’s policies in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. He accused the Chief Minister of making false statements, including those related to the timing of the Ramlila celebrations and other public events. He also raised concerns about pollution in the Yamuna River and the government’s plans to address it.
