The inaugural Test match between India and West Indies is currently being played in Ahmedabad. After the toss, both teams have announced their respective playing elevens. India has decided to field three spinners in this match, with the significant news being Kuldeep Yadav’s return to the Test team. This series against the West Indies marks the beginning of India’s home season, and this is India’s first Test match on home soil this year.
West Indies captain, Roston Chase, won the toss and elected to bat first, which means India will be starting with the ball.
In addition to Kuldeep Yadav, India’s team features two other spinners: Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar. Kuldeep Yadav returns to the Indian Test team after a hiatus of 347 days. He last played a Test match 11 months ago, from October 16th to 20th last year, against New Zealand in Bengaluru. This match marks his comeback to the Indian playing eleven in the Test format.
