The Citroen C3 Aircross has been awarded a 5-star safety rating for adult occupant protection by the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP). The SUV achieved a score of 27.05 out of a possible 33 points for adult safety and 40 out of 49 points for child occupant protection, resulting in a 4-star rating for child safety. This makes the Aircross the 22nd vehicle to receive a 5-star rating under the Bharat NCAP initiative. While achieving the top rating, the vehicle scored relatively low in adult safety compared to other 5-star rated cars. The crash tests conducted by Bharat NCAP indicated that the Citroen Aircross exhibited a stable structure and footwell area designed to withstand further loads. In tests simulating both frontal and side impacts, the vehicle provided good to adequate levels of protection for adult occupants, covering all body regions. The side pole test demonstrated excellent head protection for occupants, thanks to the deployment of curtain airbags. For child occupants, the Aircross ensured comprehensive protection for both 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies when using ISOFIX anchorages and support legs with rearward-facing child seats. The Aircross also comes equipped with i-Size anchorages as standard, promoting easier and safer child seat installation. Standard safety features include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-hold assist, seatbelts with reminders for all passengers, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The vehicle’s robust body structure is engineered using a combination of High Strength Steel (HSS), Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS), and Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) to maximize crash energy absorption. Comfort and convenience features include LED projector headlamps, automatic air-conditioning, power-folding ORVMs, a soft-touch dashboard, rear AC vents, and ergonomically placed power window switches. The C3 Aircross offers a choice of transmission options, including 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, and 6-speed automatic. The vehicle is available in both 5-seater and 5+2 seater configurations. Engine options include a 1.2L PureTech 110 turbocharged petrol engine, rated at 110 PS and 205 Nm, along with a 1.2L PureTech 82 naturally aspirated petrol engine. The price of the Citroën Aircross ranges from Rs 8.32 lakh to Rs 14.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
