During a joint appearance with US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu voiced his backing of the US-led peace proposal for Gaza. Netanyahu emphasized that the plan addresses Israel’s core objectives, such as the freeing of hostages, neutralizing Hamas’ military, and removing its political control. He acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the US and Israel, recognizing their capacity to overcome significant challenges when united. In his remarks, Netanyahu also referenced actions that the US has taken to make the region more secure. He outlined Israel’s plan which included disarming Hamas and establishing a non-Hamas, non-Palestinian Authority civilian administration to govern Gaza. He indicated that if Hamas complies with the peace plan, the process would start with a withdrawal, followed by the release of all Israeli hostages within three days. Netanyahu also declared Israel’s resolve to independently complete the objectives should Hamas reject the proposal. He encouraged the formation of an international entity to fully disarm Hamas.
