During the Asia Cup 2025 final, Sahibzada Farhan, the Pakistani opener, set a new world record by targeting Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Farhan once again initiated a promising start for Pakistan, taking an aggressive stance against Bumrah, similar to their Super-4 encounter. This time, he hit a six off Bumrah’s ball, making history.
After India won the toss and chose to bowl at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman opened the innings for Pakistan. In the third over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled, and Sahibzada Farhan hit a powerful six off the third ball. This shot not only ignited the match but also gave Farhan the record for the most sixes against Bumrah in T20 International cricket.
This marked his third six against Bumrah in T20 International cricket. He previously hit two sixes against Bumrah in the Super-4 match. Sahibzada Farhan is the only batsman in the world to have hit three sixes against Bumrah in T20 Internationals. Batsmen like Elton Chigumbura from Zimbabwe, Lendl Simmons and Kieron Pollard from West Indies, Martin Guptill from New Zealand, and Cameron Green from Australia have each managed to hit two sixes against Bumrah.
