The Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU) has a slate of upcoming films planned. “Thamma,” starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, is next in line, with its trailer having been released on September 26th. The film’s narrative is inspired by the tale of Betal. During a press conference, the team unveiled a special project, pre-planned within the MHCU framework.
Shraddha Kapoor, a key figure in the Stree films, was present for the announcement. She disclosed the upcoming release of “Choti Stree,” an animated film, in theaters before “Stree 3.” Kapoor specified that the animated film is geared towards children and families, and it will serve as a prelude to “Stree 3,” which will blend animation and live-action elements.
“Choti Stree” will also feature Shraddha Kapoor in a leading role, continuing her association with the franchise following her performances in “Stree” and “Stree 2.” Kapoor shared her enthusiasm: “This is my favorite part. The Maddock Horror Comedy Universe is bringing an animated film Choti Stree which will be released in theaters. It is for children and families. This is an exciting time for the audience.” The cast of “Choti Stree” remains undisclosed by the filmmakers.
Producer Dinesh Vijan provided insights into “Choti Stree,” stating that its conclusion will transition into a scene from “Stree 3.” This will involve a shift from animation to live-action, revealing the backstory. The release of “Choti Stree” is scheduled for six months prior to “Stree 3.” The theatrical release of “Stree 3” is set for August 13, 2027. “Choti Stree” is anticipated to debut in late 2026 or early 2027. Additional MHCU installments include “Mahamunjya”, “Shakti Shalini”, “Chamunda”, “Pehla Mahayuddh”, and “Dusra Mahayuddh”. “Thamma” is slated for a Diwali release on October 21st.
