In a major victory for law enforcement, Punjab Police and central agencies have successfully extradited Parminder Singh, alias Pindi, a member of the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), a Khalistan-supporting terrorist group, from Abu Dhabi. Pindi is connected to Harwinder Singh, also known as Rinda, and Happy Passia, both Khalistan terrorists who are currently sheltered in Pakistan. He was a wanted individual in Punjab, facing charges related to severe crimes, including attacks on petrol stations and extortion schemes.
A dedicated team from Punjab Police, with support from the Union Ministry of External Affairs and the UAE authorities, reached the UAE on September 24 to facilitate the extradition. Punjab’s DGP acknowledged the cooperative efforts of the Union Ministry of External Affairs, the UAE government, and India’s central agencies for their crucial role in this successful extradition.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, through a tweet, highlighted that in a landmark operation, Punjab Police, in collaboration with central agencies, extradited the terrorist Parminder Singh, alias Pindi, of Babbar Khalsa International, from Abu Dhabi. Pindi is a key associate of the foreign terrorists Harwinder Singh, also known as Rinda, and Happy Passia, involved in numerous serious criminal activities, including petrol bomb attacks, violent assaults, and extortion within the Batala region.
Furthermore, he mentioned that, acting on the Red Corner Notice (RCN) issued by the Batala Police, a four-member team led by a senior police officer went to the United Arab Emirates on September 24. This team worked closely with the Ministry of External Affairs and the UAE authorities to complete all legal procedures, ensuring the safe return of the terrorist to face justice. This successful extradition demonstrates the Punjab Police’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and organized crime, along with its advanced investigative capabilities and global reach. He expressed his gratitude to the central agencies, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and the UAE government for their invaluable assistance in this joint mission to uphold justice and strengthen national security.
