The release of ‘Tu Meri Pyaari Kahani’ saw Anu Malik discussing his journey, highlighting the challenges faced despite achieving success. He emphasized the importance of visual appeal in the industry, stating that association with stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan elevated his work.
He explained that he feels he is still fighting for his father’s recognition, believing that if his father’s song ‘Saranga Teri Yaad Mein’ had featured Raj Kapoor, it would have become iconic.
He added, ‘I wouldn’t have been the Anu Malik you know today if I didn’t have good singers, writers, and even actors. It’s God’s grace that everything went well. I will never shy away from the fact that beautiful faces – Shah Rukh, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Zeenat Aman, Hema Malini, Juhi Chawla, Kajol – took my songs to a different level.’
He also shared his experiences of being removed from projects and shows, but remained persistent in seeking work. He confessed that he continues to seek opportunities, approaching producers with requests for work because of his passion for music.
