In ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood,’ Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, presents a directorial venture that humorously yet cinematically examines the Hindi film industry. A highlight of the finale is the recreation of the 1997 song ‘Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela’ from the film ‘Gupt,’ originally featuring Bobby Deol. Digital effects were used to include Mona Singh in the iconic sequence. The original dancer in the recreated song was Bhanu Khan, a prominent background dancer in the 90s. She was seen alongside Bobby Deol in the original song, playing a stylish bartender, and her dance in a white dress is still appreciated by fans.
Bhanu Khan’s career extended beyond ‘Gupt,’ with notable appearances in other popular 90s songs. She was a leading dancer in the 90s, performing with many actors. Some of her memorable performances were in songs such as ‘Tere Ishq Mein Naachenge’ (Raja Hindustani, 1996), ‘Gutur Gutur’ (Dalaal, 1993), and ‘Ram Kasam Mera Bada Naam Ho Gaya’ (Gumrah, 1993). The series itself is produced by Gauri Khan under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment and is co-created and directed by Aryan Khan.
