In Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, a recent inspection of an unregistered madrassa revealed a shocking situation. Forty young girls, ranging in age from 9 to 14, were found confined within a locked toilet. The district administration had initiated the inspection following reports of an illegal madrassa operating in the area. The madrassa was situated in a three-story building in Pahalwara village. During the inspection, the madrassa operators initially attempted to obstruct the authorities. However, with the presence of law enforcement, officials entered the building and located the locked toilet on the roof. The girls were subsequently released, but were reportedly unable to speak. Investigations revealed that the madrassa had been running for approximately three years without being officially registered.
