Raipur’s Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, visited Shubham “K Mart” to assess the impact of recent GST rate cuts on consumers. He experienced firsthand the savings by purchasing ₹1,645 worth of household goods and making the payment via UPI. The visit was aimed at understanding the public’s perspective on the benefits of reduced GST, with the Chief Minister engaging directly with shoppers.
During his shopping trip, the Chief Minister engaged with people, inquiring about how GST rate reductions had affected the prices of essential items. He discussed the impact of the changes with those present, listening to their experiences and gathering feedback. He conversed with shoppers, showing genuine interest in their feedback. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of appreciation for the Chief Minister’s approachability and interest.
He further discussed GST reforms with other shoppers. They shared that they felt a great relief because of the reduced prices of medicines and groceries. The Chief Minister stated, “This is the actual aim: to ensure that the effects of the reforms reach the general public.” After purchasing some items and seeing the new prices, he added, “These reforms are not just on paper, but bring about a visible change in every family’s life.”
The Chief Minister also encouraged everyone to support the Swadeshi movement, receiving an enthusiastic response, “You lead the way, we are with you.”
