The Indian automobile market is witnessing positive developments for consumers since the implementation of GST 2.0. Tax reductions on vehicles have led car manufacturers to lower their prices, with the mid-size SUV segment experiencing the most significant impact. This has made these vehicles more attractive to potential buyers.
Traditionally, the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos have been strong competitors in the SUV segment. Following the recent GST rate reductions, the Seltos has emerged as a more competitive option. While the Creta offers savings up to approximately Rs 72,145, the Kia Seltos has seen a price reduction of up to Rs 75,371. This makes the Seltos not only more affordable but also a direct competitor to the Creta, specifically highlighting the 1.5L Normal Petrol-Manual variant.
The new price list from the company reveals that the ex-showroom prices for the Kia Seltos now begin at Rs 10.79 lakh. All variants showcase direct price relief, ranging from Rs 39,624 to Rs 75,371.
The base variant (HTE) has experienced a price reduction of approximately Rs 40,000.
Mid-spec variants (HTX, GTX) are benefiting from savings of up to Rs 50,000.
The top-spec variants (X Line) have the largest cuts, with customers saving over Rs 75,000. Price reduction is applicable for the 1.5L Normal Petrol-Auto (CVT) variant.
This shift is particularly beneficial for middle-class consumers looking to purchase SUVs. The availability of powerful features and stylish designs at a lower price point is drawing increased interest. Customers who were considering the Creta and Seltos may now be inclined towards the Seltos, as it delivers more value for less.
