Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated 51 Mahtari Sadans in the state, starting from Kareli Badi village in the Magarlod development block of Dhamtari district. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of the Mahtari Sadan Yojana, initiated during the Navratri festival, for the advancement of the mothers and sisters of the state.
He mentioned the government’s initiative to build Mahtari Sadans to provide communal spaces in villages for women to collaborate and work together. The project has now been successfully realized.
Present at the occasion were Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Vijay Sharma, Revenue Minister Tankram Verma, Lok Sabha MP Roop Kumari Chaudhary, former minister and Kurud MLA Ajay Chandrakar, along with Secretary Niharika Barik and district-level officials. The Chief Minister also presented the Mahtari Sadan transfer certificate to the women’s group members of Aastha Mahila Sankul Sangathan Kareli Badi. He also participated in a tree-planting ceremony, planting a sapling of the Maulsree tree.
The Chief Minister declared that the Mahtari Sadan will serve as a new hub for the strength, dignity, and independence of mothers and sisters. These Sadans will facilitate education, skill development, and entrepreneurship. He stated that economic activities will be promoted by incorporating women’s self-help groups into these centers. Programs such as sewing, embroidery, knitting, handicrafts, agricultural training, and digital literacy will be available for women at the Mahtari Sadans.
