A Republican figure in the United States is facing severe criticism for making controversial statements about a statue of Hanuman. Alexander Duncan, a Republican leader from Texas, has been embroiled in controversy over his remarks regarding the 90-foot-tall statue of Lord Hanuman. Duncan expressed his disagreement with the construction of the Hindu deity’s statue, while asserting that America is a Christian nation.
Duncan’s statement on X read: ‘Why are we allowing a false statue of a false Hindu God to be here in Texas? We are a CHRISTIAN nation!’ He also included a video of the statue located at the Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple in Sugar Land, Texas.
The political leader, associated with Donald Trump’s party, further referenced the Bible in another post, stating, ‘Thou shalt have no other gods before me.’ Duncan is currently a candidate for the Texas Senate. His comments immediately sparked intense reactions across social media platforms.
