Bihar’s political landscape is heating up in anticipation of the upcoming elections. Amidst internal disputes within Lalu Yadav’s family, the JDU is grappling with its own internal conflicts. Prashant Kishor has leveled accusations of corruption, alleging that JDU minister Ashok Choudhary is involved in a 200 crore rupee scandal. This has exposed the internal discord within the JDU.
After Prashant Kishor’s accusations, while the minister remained silent, former JDU minister and MLC Neeraj Kumar stepped forward. JDU spokesperson MLC Neeraj Kumar has urged Choudhary to address the accusations, distancing himself from the party’s stance. He also raised questions about Ashok Choudhary’s portrayal of Nitish Kumar as a ‘spiritual father.’
Prashant Kishor has once again stated in the media that Ashok Choudhary must either publicly address the allegations or resign. This approach mirrors Nitish Kumar’s past actions, where a similar demand was made to Tejashwi Yadav in the previous Mahagathbandhan government, leading to the alliance’s collapse when no response was provided.
The central question now is whether Ashok Choudhary will respond to the charges or tender his resignation. Furthermore, in the context of the Bihar elections, Ashok Choudhary is already facing scrutiny from Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha concerning the Suryagarha seat. Moreover, he is facing criticism from Minister Vijay Choudhary over the Barbigha seat, where he aims to have his son-in-law contest. His close relations with Anant Singh have also placed him under the scrutiny of JDU MLC Neeraj Kumar.
