A shocking incident of dowry-related violence has occurred in Dumka, Jharkhand, where a man was killed by his son-in-law. The son-in-law was reportedly enraged because his father-in-law would not give him a tractor as part of the dowry. The local police responded swiftly, taking the body into custody and beginning an investigation. The accused son-in-law has been arrested.
The incident took place in the village of Govindpur, under the jurisdiction of the Saraiyahat police station. The victim, Ravindra Kapri, went to Kadiya Tola to see his daughter after hearing that she was sick. Upon his arrival, a dispute arose between him and his son-in-law, Sudhir Yadav, regarding the tractor.
Sudhir wanted a tractor from his father-in-law as dowry, but Ravindra refused. This disagreement led to a violent altercation. The son-in-law attacked Ravindra with sticks and other objects, inflicting serious injuries. Ravindra was later transferred to Sadar Hospital in Deoghar, where he died from his injuries.
The police were informed about the incident and have arrested the son-in-law, Sudhir Yadav, from Saraiyahat police station.
