Recently, it was announced that Mohanlal will be bestowed with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the 71st National Film Awards. The news sparked celebrations, particularly among his close associates, including Mammootty and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Mammootty expressed his delight, saying, “More than a friend, a brother, and an artist who has been a part of this glorious journey of cinema for decades. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is not just for an actor, but for the true artist who has lived cinema. I am very happy on this occasion and I am proud of you, Lal. You truly deserve this crown.” Prithviraj Sukumaran, director and actor, also offered his congratulations, noting that the award was fitting for a legend with a long-standing presence in the industry.
Mohanlal himself shared his joy, stating, “I feel very honored to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and I am grateful to everyone. I express my gratitude for the blessings of the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi. Your words have not only boosted my enthusiasm but have also filled me with joy. I am indebted to the cinema and the public for all the support I have received throughout my journey so far.” His current film, ‘Hridayaswaroopam,’ is currently playing in theaters, enjoying success.
