The Australian women’s cricket team achieved its highest score in a Women’s One Day International (WODI) during a recent match against India in Delhi. This performance occurred in the third and final ODI of the series. With this achievement, Australia equaled a record that has stood for 28 years. The Australian team reached the milestone of 412 runs in 47.5 overs before being all out, matching their previous best.
Australia’s previous highest score in a women’s ODI was 412 runs, achieved against Denmark in 1997. In that match, Australia scored 412 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 50 overs. Now, they matched that score against India.
Australian batters showed exceptional form in Delhi, leading to a total of 412 runs against India. Beth Mooney played a key role, hitting not just a century but also scoring 138 runs, which became her highest ODI score. She reached this total in 75 balls, including 23 fours and a six.
Before Mooney, opening batter Georgia Wareham also achieved her career-best ODI innings. She scored 81 runs off 68 balls, featuring 14 fours, marking her first score above fifty. Ellyse Perry added 68 runs. Australia built century partnerships for the second and third wickets, plus an 87-run partnership for the fourth. These partnerships were critical in Australia’s scoring of 412 runs.
Previously, Australia’s highest score against India’s women’s team was 371 runs. However, this time they exceeded that and equaled the record from 1997.
