Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, internal conflicts within Lalu Yadav’s family have come to the forefront, escalating into a political battle. While Tejashwi Yadav is engaged in the Bihar Adhikar Yatra, discussions and speculations concerning the RJD are rife across Bihar. Rohini Acharya’s recent activity on Facebook and X has intensified the situation, leading to questions about her potential separation from the party.
The controversy originated with Rohini’s sharing of a Facebook post that targeted Sanjay Yadav, a close associate of Tejashwi Yadav and a Rajya Sabha MP. The post was related to Sanjay Yadav’s seating arrangement on the bus during Tejashwi’s Bihar Adhikar Yatra. This action prompted a backlash against Sanjay Yadav from some within the RJD. Rohini then shared another post including images of other party members occupying the same seats.
This has prompted broader discussions on whether there is a renewed internal conflict within the Lalu family, and whether Rohini is planning to distance herself from the party before the elections.
Rohini has further expressed her sentiments on social media, using this platform to voice her unhappiness. Her tweet indicates a potential rift between the party and the family. Rohini tweeted: “I have fulfilled my duty as a daughter and sister. And I will continue to do so. I have no desire for any position. Nor do I have any political ambition. My self-respect is paramount to me.”
The question arises: who has undermined Rohini’s self-respect? Why the sudden outrage? Before this, she shared a video with the following message: “They have the spirit to make the biggest sacrifices, putting their lives on the line, fearlessness-frankness-self-respect flows in their blood.”
Tej Pratap Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav’s elder brother, also feels unhappy with Sanjay Yadav. Tej Pratap has called him a ‘traitor.’ This could mean a political as well as a familial issue for the party. It is likely the party will suffer from any lack of unity.
