The Indian cricket team is set to play against Oman in the final group stage match of the Asia Cup 2025. The venue for the match is the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. As India has already qualified for the Super-4 stage, the match is viewed as a practice opportunity. Oman, however, has been knocked out of the Super-4 competition. This situation suggests potential major alterations in India’s playing 11, which became evident during an optional practice session. Before the final group stage match, the Indian team conducted an optional practice session, with nine players participating. The players were seen focusing on their preparations. However, prominent players like Jasprit Bumrah, Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson, Shubman Gill, and Abhishek Sharma were not present. The absence of Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma, who typically participate in these sessions, was particularly noteworthy. During the optional practice session, young fast bowler Harshit Rana impressed, displaying his skills in both bowling and batting. Given his efforts, there is speculation that he might get a chance to play in the playing 11 against Oman. This tournament could provide him with a great opportunity as he hasn’t played a single match yet. Fast bowler Arshdeep Singh also worked on improving his bowling. Arshdeep Singh, who is India’s most successful T20I bowler, hasn’t played yet in the tournament. If Jasprit Bumrah is rested against Oman, Arshdeep Singh could be the preferred choice in the team. Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma were also seen practicing with enthusiasm.
