The Indian market’s mid-size SUV segment continues to be a key battleground, with the latest August 2025 sales data offering insights into the shifting dynamics. Hyundai Creta has once again taken the lead, outpacing competitors like Vitara and Harrier. Creta saw sales of 15,924 units, though this was a 5% decrease from August 2024’s figures. This performance solidifies Creta’s position as the top-selling mid-size SUV. Mahindra Scorpio secured the second position, with 9,840 units sold in August 2025; this represents a 29% decrease from last year’s sales. Toyota Hyryder showcased strong growth, increasing by 39% year-over-year, reaching 9,100 units sold. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara saw a sales decline of 36%, with 5,743 units sold. The Mahindra XUV700 also experienced a sales decrease, declining by 45%. Kia Seltos sales decreased by 28% compared to the previous year. The Tata Harrier showed an increase in sales, growing by 63%, while the Curvv experienced a decline in sales. Honda Elevate and Tata Safari recorded the lowest sales figures. The data underlines the ongoing shifts within the SUV market and highlights the continued consumer preference for certain models.
