A new rail service has commenced between Rajim and Raipur in Chhattisgarh, enhancing connectivity and offering a convenient mode of transport for the local populace. The Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai initiated the service by flagging off the new MEMU train from Rajim to Raipur, increasing accessibility for the people. Simultaneously, the Rajim-Raipur-Rajim MEMU and Raipur-Abhanpur MEMU rail services have been extended to Rajim. A substantial number of travelers enthusiastically boarded the train, eager to reach Raipur. This affordable rail service has brought widespread happiness across the region. The Chief Minister highlighted that the new rail service would provide residents of Rajim, Gariyaband, and Devbhog a cheaper, more efficient way to travel to the capital, Raipur. This development is especially useful for students, professionals, and businesspersons. He emphasized that the connection of Rajim, referred to as the ‘Prayag of Chhattisgarh,’ to the railway network will ensure that journeys from rural areas to the capital are easier, smoother, and more economical. Development in Chhattisgarh has been steadily progressing over the last 19 months under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance. The rapid investment in railway infrastructure is set to create a prosperous future. The return of the broad-gauge train service after an eight-year gap since the narrow-gauge service from Dhamtari to Raipur ended is a noteworthy achievement. Approximately 45,000 crore rupees is currently invested in railway projects in Chhattisgarh. The budget for the financial year 2025-26 includes about 7,000 crore rupees to ensure rapid expansion and improvement of rail services in the state.
