A distressing incident has come to light in Patna, Bihar, where a woman has accused her husband of severe actions. The woman alleges that her husband posted private videos of her online using a fake Facebook account created in his mother’s name. She also accuses her husband of physical violence and attempts to end her life. The victim, 26, had been married for six years to a man from Samastipur.
The woman revealed that during the marriage arrangements, her husband was presented as a five-star hotel owner, but he was actually a 10th-grade dropout, while she has a B.Com degree. She stated that her husband was addicted to betting on IPL matches, which destroyed their family life. She detailed the financial ruin caused by his gambling.
The victim reported that shortly after their marriage, her husband took out loans in her name. First, he took a loan of 35,000 rupees, followed by 1 lakh, and then 30,000 rupees. He used these loans for cricket betting. They had a daughter in 2021. Her husband also gambled away the money they received as blessings for the baby.
Despite her repeated attempts to reason with her husband, he refused to change. Frustrated, she moved to her parents’ house for some time. When she returned home, the husband demanded 1 lakh rupees to allow her back. A local panchayat tried to mediate, but the abuse continued.
During this period, a neighbor, Aman Kumar, assisted her, discreetly providing food and milk for her daughter. This led to a friendship between them.
The woman further claimed that her husband tried to kill her. After she raised an alarm, neighbors including Aman gathered. Seeing the husband’s actions, Aman became angry. He offered to take her to her mother. The husband then accused his wife of an affair with Aman, to which Aman admitted.
The husband then declared that if they were having an affair, they should marry, or he would kill them both. Following this, he forced her to have another man apply sindoor. She then moved to her parents’ home. Later, the husband contacted her mother, asking her to collect the daughter’s belongings and jewelry.
When the mother visited her daughter’s marital home, the husband physically assaulted her, even choking her and taking her phone. He then created a fake Facebook account in the mother’s name and posted private videos. The woman filed a case in the cybercrime police station in June, resulting in an FIR. Her husband was arrested but released within three days. A civil court case was initiated. The case is now in the Patna High Court, with the next hearing on November 11. The husband now expresses a desire to live with his wife and daughter, and he does not want a divorce.
