With the Bihar assembly elections approaching, political parties are stepping up their efforts to fortify their organizational structures. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to begin a two-day tour of Bihar on Thursday, during which he will engage in strategic meetings with party leaders and workers. The meetings will focus on election preparedness and strengthening the party’s presence in key districts. Shah will meet with BJP workers from 20 districts, holding sessions in Dehri-on-Sone and Begusarai. In Dehri-on-Sone (Rohtas district), he will meet with BJP workers and leaders from 10 districts in the Magadh and Shahabad regions at the Lalan Singh Stadium. He will then proceed to Begusarai to interact with leaders and officials from another 10 districts, including Patna Rural, Patna Metro, Barh, and Nalanda. Approximately 2,000 to 2,500 party workers, including district presidents and MLAs, are expected to be addressed by Shah. The focus of these meetings will be on election preparations and strategic planning, according to party sources. The BJP has divided Bihar into five organizational zones, and Shah’s visit will cover two of these. As part of its campaign strategy, the BJP is also launching a “Seva Pakhwada” program, with “door-to-door contact campaigns” planned from September 18 to 25, to inform the public about government welfare schemes. A follow-up meeting with BJP leaders is scheduled for September 27, with discussions expected on seat allocation, candidate selection, and campaign strategies with allies. The BJP aims to secure 225 seats in the upcoming elections and is planning joint worker conferences across all 243 assembly constituencies. Dilip Jaiswal, the BJP’s state president, emphasized that the visit aims to organize grassroots workers and energize them before the elections. The central minister will review booth-level preparations and discuss party strengthening measures. Shah will also assess the ground realities by interacting with MPs, MLAs, senior leaders, and district presidents to prepare a roadmap for victory. This visit, which immediately follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Purnia on September 15, is viewed as a significant pre-election event. Seat distribution and candidate selection are also expected to be discussed during these meetings.
