Imran Khan, currently incarcerated, sent a message to Army Chief Asim Munir via his sister, Aleema Khan. The message, as shared by Aleema, includes Khan’s defiance, stating, “You will not break us; we will not accept your subjugation.” The message, published by BBC Urdu, reveals Khan’s belief that Munir is operating under a delusion and is acting similarly to former Army Chief Yahya Khan. The message warns Munir that like Yahya Khan, his rule might survive, but Pakistan could face division. Furthermore, Khan accuses Munir of suppressing the PTI. The message was delivered following a court hearing in the Toshakhana case, in which Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, are defendants. During a conversation with journalists, Aleema Khan also relayed Khan’s forecast of a deteriorating economic climate in Pakistan, drawing parallels to Nepal and Sri Lanka, and predicting coups similar to Bangladesh and Nepal. Khan expressed his view that the Pakistani judiciary and media are compromised and that there has been a lack of foreign investment in Pakistan over the last three years. He also highlighted the increase in terrorist attacks and the military’s inability to manage the situation, leading to public discontent.
