The film ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’ has garnered considerable attention and praise from audiences nationwide. Dulquer Salmaan, who produced the Malayalam film, shared that both his father, Mammootty, and Kalyani Priyadarshan’s father, Priyadarshan, had expressed concerns about whether the film would succeed.
Dulquer recounted to The Hollywood Reporter India that Priyadarshan was skeptical of the project, questioning the decision to take on such a venture. Dulquer admitted that he had faith in the concept, despite not knowing whether it would be successful. He mentioned that Mammootty, a respected actor, shared these worries. Now, however, they are all said to be very pleased with the film’s positive reception.
Kalyani Priyadarshan highlighted her father’s congratulatory message after the film’s success, which reminded her to stay grounded. She emphasized the importance of not letting success or failure impact her.
Kalyani also acknowledged Dulquer Salmaan’s support for ‘Lokah’ in another interview with The Hollywood Reporter India. She admired his courage in dedicating time and money to a unique film like ‘Lokah,’ suggesting that similar subjects may not be explored as readily in other film industries. She considered Dulquer a risk-taker, mirroring the approach of his and her own parents.
The release date on OTT platforms for ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’ has not been announced yet. According to reports, ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’ will likely be released on Netflix after its theatrical run, similar to Dulquer Salmaan’s earlier productions, ‘Kurup’ and ‘Maniyarayile Ashokan.’
