Maruti Suzuki’s new Victoris has entered the market with the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in its sights. While sales within India are crucial, the company intends to significantly expand its global presence by exporting the Victoris to numerous international markets.
Suzuki’s Export Strategy
The Grand Vitara, Maruti’s compact SUV, is currently exported to about 60 countries. The Victoris will expand this reach, targeting over 100 countries worldwide. Similar export plans are in place for the e-Vitara, with exports already initiated.
The e-Vitara has been shipped to 12 European countries, including the UK, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, Hungary, Austria, Iceland, and Belgium. The Victoris is anticipated to be exported to similar regions. In addition to Europe, the Victoris and e-Vitara will be exported to markets in Asia, the Middle East, South and Central America, and Africa.
Growing Export Numbers
India’s export-focused production is experiencing growth, and Maruti’s share in exports is rising. In August 2025, Maruti exported 36,538 vehicles, approximately 20% of its total monthly sales of 1.8 lakh units.
Maruti accounted for 40% of India’s overall car exports in FY25. The Victoris is expected to contribute to further expansion of the company’s export capacity.
Maruti’s Global Export Lineup
Maruti already exports a diverse range of models to global markets. These include the Fronx, Jimny, Dzire, Baleno, Swift, Ertiga, Celerio, S-Presso, Eeco, Ciaz, Grand Vitara, Alto, Brezza, Ignis, XL6, and Wagon R.
The Fronx is presently Maruti’s most successful export model, recently surpassing 100,000 export units. The Fronx is exported to over 80 countries, and Suzuki hopes to achieve comparable results with the Victoris.
