The protests in Britain are fueled by anxieties surrounding the declining proportion of native-born citizens within the country. Current data indicates that 73% of the population is comprised of native Britons, a figure projected to drop to 57% by 2050. This trend suggests that by 2063, native Britons will become a minority within their own nation, with their population falling below 50%. By 2075, they may constitute only 44% of the total population, and by the end of the century, the native British population could shrink to just 33%.
Britain has experienced a significant influx of immigrants in recent years. In 2022, a record 764,000 immigrants arrived, followed by 685,000 in 2023. Last year, 430,000 immigrants entered Britain, while over a million people have sought asylum this year. Concerns are raised that these immigrants are undermining economic opportunities and cultural identity. Currently, there are 4 million Muslim immigrants in Britain, constituting 6.5% of the total population, and 1.2 million Hindu immigrants. Additionally, there are 5.7 million Christian, Sikh, and other immigrants.
