Rambhadraacharya’s comparison of Western Uttar Pradesh to a ‘mini Pakistan’ has sparked significant debate. Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Bareilvi, the All India Muslim Jamaat President, criticized the statement as divisive and aimed at misleading Hindus. He countered the claim, stating that there has been no exodus in the region and that its residents are prosperous. He underscored the harmony between Hindus and Muslims in several districts, including Sambhal and Muzaffarnagar, noting that the population of both communities has grown. Razvi contested Rambhadracharya’s assertions about population dynamics, emphasizing that Muslims represent 20% of the country’s population. He then questioned statements related to population control, referencing past appeals for larger families by various leaders. He expressed bewilderment at the mention of Pakistan and urged religious leaders to promote unity and avoid statements that could cause tension.
