The Ganga Expressway project, designed to link Meerut and Prayagraj, is nearing completion. Construction in the Amroha district’s Hasanpur tehsil is nearly finished, with the primary work now complete. The anticipation is that the expressway will be operational for vehicles within the next month. Although the scheduled completion date for the 23.60 km section in Hasanpur was set for October 12, 2025, all road and lighting infrastructure has been completed, alongside the installation of the rainwater drainage system. A key infrastructure element is the overbridge and T-point on the Hasanpur-Rahra road in Mangrola, with four toll plazas constructed on either side. The bridge over the Ganga River at Pandapur is also finished. Completion of minor finishing work, paused due to recent rainfall, is expected in the next month, according to officials. Sources suggest the entire 594 km-long Ganga Expressway, connecting Meerut and Prayagraj, will be inaugurated in November. The opening of the expressway will drastically cut travel time between the two cities, benefiting residents of Amroha and making travel to the Tigri fair and Sangam bath more convenient for devotees. Moreover, the expressway promises to ease travel for lawyers and litigants from western Uttar Pradesh, allowing them to attend court in Prayagraj and return home in the same day.
