Skoda is gearing up to bring the new Octavia RS sedan to the Indian market by November 2025. This performance-focused sedan will be offered as a CBU, ensuring a high level of build quality. While the final pricing is yet to be revealed, industry estimates place the price in the range of Rs 50-55 lakh (ex-showroom).
At the heart of the Skoda Octavia RS lies its potent engine. The car features a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine, capable of delivering 265 bhp and 370 Nm of torque. This same engine is also found in the Volkswagen Golf GTI. A 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox will manage the transmission, complemented by a front-wheel drive (FWD) system and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential for enhanced handling.
Performance figures are impressive, with the Octavia RS accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in a brisk 6.4 seconds and achieving a top speed of 250 km/h. The braking system features ventilated disc brakes: 340 x 30 mm at the front and 310 x 22 mm at the rear. Notably, the Indian version will not include the Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) adaptive suspension system available in the global model.
The Octavia RS will be packed with features, including a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, sporty seats with red stitching and carbon fiber accents, aluminum pedals, a flat-bottomed RS steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, heated front and rear seats, and an optional panoramic sunroof.
Safety features include multiple airbags, electronic stability control, front assist with city emergency brake, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, a driver alert system, and blind spot detection. The car offers 600 liters of boot space, which can be increased to 1,555 liters with the rear seats folded down.
On the exterior, the Octavia RS distinguishes itself with a redesigned grille featuring black detailing, sporty RS-specific front and rear bumpers, LED matrix headlamps with crystalline elements, alloy wheels, new LED rear lights with animated indicators, a sports exhaust system, and a motion-activated tailgate.
