He mentioned that he made an effort to attend because of his close friendship with Anil Kapoor and his well wishes for Rani Mukerji. Director S. Shankar shared in an interview that the discussions with Aamir Khan did not progress well, and that Aamir was not impressed by the ‘Mudhalvan’ concept. Shah Rukh Khan, on the other hand, was occupied with the filming of ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’.
