Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that Israel would persist in its attacks on its enemies after the Israeli Air Force conducted a long-range assault on Houthi targets in Yemen. Netanyahu indicated that the strikes were in response to Houthi attacks and that Israel would retaliate against any further aggression. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that its fighter jets hit several locations in Yemen, including Sana’a and Al Jawf, focusing on military camps, a fuel depot, and the Houthi’s public relations headquarters. The Air Force detailed that the operation was its most extensive since the war began, involving over ten fighter jets and covering more than 2,350 kilometers. The IDF stated it would continue to address ongoing attacks from the Houthi regime. Defense Minister Israel Katz called the strikes a significant blow against the Houthis. Since March 18, the Houthis have launched numerous projectiles at Israel, with many being intercepted. The Houthi group has also targeted vessels in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, disrupting a crucial maritime passage. The backdrop to this conflict is the Hamas attack on October 7.
