Indian cricketer Rinku Singh has opened up about a frightening childhood experience involving a violent monkey attack. In a recent conversation on the Raj Shamani podcast, Singh discussed the incident, revealing that encounters with monkeys were common and a constant threat to him and his siblings while they were growing up.
The attack was particularly dangerous, leaving Singh to grapple with both physical pain and the lasting effects of trauma. He explained that the most severe bite occurred during the rainy season, at a time when his family’s home lacked a proper washroom, forcing them to use fields.
On that fateful day, while walking with his brother and a friend under an umbrella, they were ambushed. The monkey attacked from behind, holding him down and repeatedly biting him. The bites tore a significant amount of flesh. Singh’s brother tried to help by throwing stones, but the monkey remained relentless in its assault.
The injuries sustained during the attack were severe, with Singh recounting the extensive bleeding and the visible exposure of his bones. This incident led to a clinic visit and emergency care. The post-attack dressing and subsequent recovery were crucial steps in his healing.
