In an effort to fortify its market presence and draw in customers seeking budget-friendly options, Tata Motors is set to expand its petrol car portfolio. The company plans to introduce four new petrol-powered vehicles in the Indian market during the current fiscal year, catering to both the budget and premium segments.
Tata Punch facelift: The Tata Punch, a popular model, is expected to receive a facelift in October. This update will include changes to the bumper, grill, and feature new 16-inch alloy wheels. The interior will likely receive updates, including a new digital instrument cluster.
Tata Harrier: The Harrier is expected to be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged direct injection petrol engine, offering 168hp and 280Nm of torque. The anticipated launch window is between January and March. The SUV may be offered with a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options.
Tata Sierra: The launch of the Sierra is expected early next year. Tata Motors may offer this car with two petrol engine choices. A 1.5-liter turbocharged direct injection petrol engine could produce 168hp and 280 Nm of torque. A 1.5-liter naturally aspirated variant could be available for those looking for fuel economy and affordability. Both engines may be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, with an automatic transmission potentially available with the turbocharged engine.
Tata Safari: The Safari SUV with a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine is expected to launch between January and March. This is a three-row model with seating for six or seven passengers, and it’s yet to be determined if the engine’s power and torque will be sufficient.
