Cyber hackers in Pakistan are reportedly selling phone records for 600 rupees (2000 Pakistani rupees), providing the data to the concerned parties with ease. Even when leaders and ministers travel abroad, their phones are being tapped, with the cost for this service being around 1000 rupees (3000 Pakistani rupees). The Pakistani government’s digital privacy has been severely compromised, with the report outlining four methods of data leakage. Firstly, the locations of individuals using newly purchased SIM cards are continuously tracked via websites. Secondly, the SIM card details are being sold by suspicious individuals. Additionally, phone tapping is being conducted and the recorded data is also being sold. This report has exposed the fragility of digital privacy in Pakistan.
