These applications, ‘AIS App’ and ‘Income Tax Department App,’ offer a mobile-friendly solution for filing income tax returns. Designed to simplify tax filing, the apps are particularly beneficial for salaried individuals, pensioners, and small taxpayers.
How the Apps Work:
**Accessing the Apps:** Taxpayers can log in using their Aadhaar ID, PAN, and password.
**Data Review:** The apps provide access to the Annual Information Statement and Taxpayer Information Summary, which contain pre-filled information from sources like banks and employers, thereby minimizing manual data input.
**Form Selection Guidance:** The apps guide users in selecting the correct ITR form based on their income, including salary, pension, and capital gains.
**Data Management:** Users can add or correct details as necessary, such as interest earned from fixed deposits or rental income.
**Submission:** E-verification can be performed via Aadhaar OTP, net banking, or digital signature, followed by immediate submission of the return. The mobile apps provide a straightforward and secure alternative to desktop filing or using intermediaries, making tax filing easier for everyone.
