Violence has erupted in Patna, Bihar, as a man was fatally shot and three others were injured in a brazen attack. The incident occurred in the Salimpur area on Saturday evening when unidentified gunmen ambushed a family. The victim, identified as Nilesh Kumar, was killed instantly in the hail of bullets. His family members were also hit and are currently receiving medical treatment.
The shooting took place on the Patna-Bakhtiyarpur highway, near Shahpur village. The family was returning from a temple after a vehicle blessing ceremony when they were targeted. Police arrived at the scene and secured the area. The body of the deceased has been taken for a post-mortem examination, and the injured have been rushed to a hospital.
According to SDPO Abhishek Singh, the attackers arrived in a vehicle and opened fire. The motive behind the attack is currently under investigation, but initial reports suggest a possible dispute.
