Rajendra Pandit, a resident of Lathibadi village, Podaiyahat police station area, Godda district, murdered his wife, Lalita Devi, after a domestic quarrel. He then attacked his in-laws. The couple had been married for approximately six years and had two children. Rajendra Pandit worked outside the home.
According to local residents, there had been conflicts between the husband and wife for several years. It is suspected that Rajendra Pandit, in a fit of rage, crossed all limits of brutality, first brutally murdering his wife, Lalita Devi, by slitting her throat, and then attacking his father-in-law, Ramdev Pandit, and his wife with a knife when they intervened.
Ramdev Pandit, the father-in-law of Rajendra Pandit, stated that his son-in-law was heavily intoxicated with alcohol at the time of the incident. Despite attempts to reason with him, he became violent and committed the acts. The exact cause of the dispute remains unclear.
