VinFast has introduced its all-electric SUVs, the VF6 and VF7, in India. The VF6, a compact SUV, is priced at ₹16.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while the VF7, the larger model, is available for ₹20.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Customers can book these vehicles with a deposit of ₹21,000, with deliveries slated to commence in 2028.
VinFast is offering complimentary charging and maintenance services. Both the VF6 and VF7 feature panoramic sunroofs. The VF7 will come with a 10-year or 2,00,000 km warranty, while the VF6 will have a 7-year or 2,00,000 km warranty. VinFast, operating in 16 countries, plans to expand its presence in India with these EVs. The company intends to export these India-made electric vehicles to multiple South Asian countries.
The models are being assembled locally at VinFast’s Tamil Nadu plant, using the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) method. Bookings are currently open in Surat and Chennai showrooms. VinFast aims to establish a network of 35 showrooms across 27 cities by the end of the year. The VF6 will be offered in three trim levels: Earth, Wind, and Wind Infinity.
The VF6 features a 59.6kWh battery pack coupled with a single motor and front-wheel drive. This setup delivers 204bhp and 310Nm of torque. VinFast claims a range of up to 468 km on a single charge for the VF6, validated by ARIA. It supports fast charging, replenishing from 10% to 70% in just 25 minutes. The wheelbase measures 2,730 mm, and the ground clearance is 190 mm.
The VF7 is equipped with a 70.8kWh battery pack, available with either a single or dual-motor configuration. It boasts a maximum range of 532 km on a full charge. The dual-motor AWD variant produces up to 350bhp and 500Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. The 10% to 70% charge time is 24 minutes.
The VF6 Earth trim has an all-black interior, while the Wind trim gets a dual-tone mocha brown and black interior. The VF7 also has a sporty all-black theme across its trims, with the Wind and Sky variants offering a mocha brown and black theme.
Both the VF6 and VF7 will be available in six exterior color options, namely Urban Mint, Zenith Grey, Red, Infinity Blank, Desat Silver, and Black. The SUVs include features such as a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto-dimming IRVM, head-up display (HUD), wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a 6-speaker audio system.
Additional features include a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, ventilated seats, a panoramic glass roof, eight airbags, Level-2 ADAS, ABS with EBD, hill start assist, ESS, ROM, all-wheel disc brakes, seven airbags, cruise control, and a 360-degree SVM system. The primary competitors include the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curve EV, and Mahindra BE.06.
